Welcome to Russian Ministries! As you explore our site, please take a few minutes to discover what God is doing at our evangelistic summer camps. One Child + One Week of Summer Camp = One Changed Life. For more than ten years, we have seen God change the lives of thousands of children and teenagers as they discover His love and grace at our evangelistic summer camps. At the summer camps, young Next Generation Christian leaders are reaching out to children, the youngest and neediest of the Next Generation, and to at-risk youth.
Eight-year-old Anya began smoking at age three, and her vocabulary was peppered with curse words. Along with her bad language and bad habits, Anya’s dirty hair was uncombed, her shoes worn out and her jacket ripped. This little girl’s unkempt appearance spoke volumes to the camp staff when Anya arrived at one of Russian Ministries’ evangelistic summer camps in the village of Krasnozor’e, Ukraine. Anya lived with her mother and older sister—her father had long been out of the picture. Anya’s mother drank heavily and was hardly ever home, and her sister paid little attention to her. At the start of camp, Anya didn’t want to hear about God. She would often laugh and shout out curse words during the Bible study time. But gradually, the camp staff noticed some changes in Anya, and by the end of the week, she was a different little girl. As Anya said good-bye to her counselors, her hair was clean and neatly combed, and she was clutching a picture she had drawn. As the camp staff admired Anya’s picture, they knew that an even greater transformation had taken place inside of this young girl. Anya’s picture was of Christ on the cross, and underneath the drawing she had written: “He died for me!” This summer, we would like to send at least 5,000 children and young people in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova to a life-changing week of summer camp. The equation of one child + one week of summer camp = one changed life is simple, but the outcome is eternal as these children discover God’s love, learn from His Word, grow in their relationship with Christ and share the gospel with others.
